Alternative Venues London (AVL) is the name under which our commercial lettings department operates. It is run by a Commercial Manager with a small team responsible for the marketing and attendant office and financial administration. Within Greater London there are some 46 Reserve Forces establishments ranging from a Grade II listed Georgian House in Fulham; to a Telford designed, galleried hall in SW1; to Hollyhedge House, a most imposing building at the top of the hill above Greenwich, plus others in Mayfair and the City of London. All these venues are available for hire, for up to seven days a week and most have secure parking. Meetings and conferences can be for as few as ten to as many as 150. Dinner dances for 200 are possible in some locations. One key role is the provision of training facilities – both educational and physical – and Training Halls lend themselves perfectly to this requirement. A unique feature is the size of the estate and its geographic spread throughout the Capital, which gives the prospective client a very extensive choice. Added to this are excellent transport links, the comparative security of the sites and the wide variety of possible activities that can take place, which enables the AVL team to offer a package that is difficult to beat.
