Scan Associates has pledged its support to military personnel, veterans and their families by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. The Armed Forces Covenant is a formal commitment to those who serve and have served that they will be treated with fairness and respect, and a recognition of the valuable attributes they bring to the workplace.
The ceremony took place at Broxbourne Sports Club during a multi-sport charity day featuring Army Sport and Beefy’s Charity Foundation‘s cricket team, plus hockey, squash, and tennis. As one of the sponsors Scan Associates hosted and organised the event; raising awareness and funds for three charities (Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST), Beefy’s Charity Foundation and Blind Veterans UK).

The covenant was co-signed by Major Tom Hallet, SO2 Engagement Plans, Army HQ London District and Harry Obeney, Chief Operating Officer, Scan Associates.

“I am proud to represent Scan Associates in the signing of our Armed Forces Covenant, confirming our pledges in support of serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets, cadet force adult volunteers and military families. We thank GL RFCA and Maj Tom Hallett for being witness to, and co-signing, our commitment. Scan Associates strive to ensure that we are, and continue to be, a forces friendly employer as we grow, advocating the valuable skills service leavers and reservists can bring.”

About the Armed Forces Covenant
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, including the bereaved, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.
Its two principles are that, recognising the unique obligations of, and the sacrifices made by, the Armed Forces:
- Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.
- Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most such as the injured and the bereaved.
