The Cadet Forces provide opportunities for young people to have fun, adventure, and meet new friends. In addition, to be taught skills specific to the organisation, such as sailing with the Sea Cadets, shooing and Fieldcraft with the Army Cadets and gliding and flying for the Air Cadets, there is plenty of opportunity to learn how to rock climb, kayak, mountain bike, hill walking and other activities.
This Cadet experience is not possible without the adult volunteers who provide supervision and guidance to the young people. Being an adult volunteer allows you to develop abilities such as leadership, teamwork, and confidence, and you may gain vocational management and training qualifications up to the Master’ degree level. It may not be easy but it is always community service that can help your career.
The Cadet organisations provide outstanding programs of activities all year around but especially over summer where the cadets have to attend camp, at home or abroad, to gain qualifications and life skills. Cadets give back to their communities by assisting with worthy initiatives and generating funds for a variety of organisations.
