On behalf of Headquarters London District, we are inviting applications for the voluntary appointment of Colonel Cadets, based at Horse Guards, Central London. The role will become available from January 2026.
This is a senior leadership role within London District, reporting directly to the Deputy Commander. The successful candidate will join the District’s leadership team, supporting four Army Cadet Force Sectors (Equivalent to Counties / Battalions) and 51 Combined Cadet Force Contingents across the JMC Area of Responsibility.
About the Role
This is a voluntary appointment with an initial three-year tenure, extendable by a further two years if agreed by both HQ London District and the incumbent, and considered in the best interests of the Cadet movement.
If eligible under Cadet Force Commission regulations, the successful applicant will assume the substantive rank of Colonel. The role also carries entitlement to Volunteer Allowance, residence-to-place-of-duty, and motor mileage allowances while on official duty.
